FileUsage Frequently Asked QuestionsYou are here: Aurionix FileUsage > FileUsage Frequently Asked Questions In this section: I've installed it, but how do I switch it on?If you've installed Aurionix FileUsage but cannot see the new columns, try checking the following points:
- First, make sure that you have restarted your computer since you have installed Aurionix FileUsage.
- Open Windows Explorer. You can hold down the Start key on the keyboard
and press E to do this.
- Navigate to a folder so that it appears in the pane on the right. You can
double-click on the icon for your hard disk to navigate to the root folder. Your hard disk icon may look like
one of the pictures shown here, and will probably have a label ending in "(C:)".
 - Switch to Details view by clicking the View menu (or the toolbar icon
shown below) and then clicking Details.

The display style should change to look more like the picture below.
 - Choose the columns to display by right-clicking in the column headers
and choosing "More..." from the bottom of the menu as shown below. Here, we right-clicked next to the "Type" column.
 - Make sure that one of the new columns is ticked. They will probably be near the
bottom of the list in the pop-up window. The new columns are called Total Size, Total Usage and Total Files.
Click Ok to close the window.
- Scroll over to the right and the new columns should now be visible.
It may take a minute for the numbers to update. You can move the columns into a different order by dragging
and dropping their headers. You can resize each column by dragging the divider bar between the column
headers.
